How Do We Work?
Simple — hum kaam mein haath bhi lagate hain, aur dil bhi. We don’t just run businesses from afar; we stay involved, understand the ground reality, and build real connections. Whether it's cement, steel, classrooms, or clinics — we believe in doing good work, with good people, for the long run.

The Family Tree

Asfaque Alam
Asfaque Alam — or as everyone calls him, Raju Da — is the man who went from blackboard to boardroom. Starting out in the lanes of Chanchal, he quietly built an empire one smart decision at a time. Today, he's the brain behind every venture, the go-to guy for every tough call, and the calm in every storm. Visionary, grounded, and effortlessly cool — he’s not just the boss, he’s the original builder of dreams.
Masum Karima
Masum Karima is the woman who gets things done — with grace, grit, and zero fuss. As one of the directors of Arogya Nursing Home, she brings heart to healthcare. And as a partner in both Chanchal B.Ed College and CTTC, she’s helping shape tomorrow’s educators with quiet confidence and a sharp eye for detail. She might not always be in the spotlight, but trust us — she’s running the show behind the scenes.

Sarfaraj Alam Neil
Yeah, hi! I’m Neil — the brains (and sometimes the brawn) behind this site. I take care of the manufacturing unit, keeping things moving and making sure we get stuff done. No fluff, just real work and real impact.
A brief history
It all started way back in 1997 — a year before I was born. My father, Mr. A. Alam — or as most people around here call him, Raju Da — was an English tutor in the small town of Chanchal when he began selling sand and stone chips in front of a modest chatai house. That tiny setup, which was originally meant for an FMCG shop that never took off, became our very first office. There was no grand business plan — just an idea to protect the land from being encroached. But fate had other plans. People started buying, and just like that, the journey into construction began. National Construction was born.
Our first dealership was with Birla Cement, and from that small-town hustle, we grew into one of the top three dealers in the state. We expanded with distributorship of Bengal Super Cement for Malda and Dakshin Dinajpur and later secured a dealership with Ultratech — marking the start of a golden era. Over 12 years, we built an empire of trust, winning awards and earning respect across the region.
By 2012, we had taken a formal leap — registering as San Marcom India Pvt. Ltd. We consistently ranked among the top performers in the Malda Depot and eventually earned the prestigious Navaratna status — among the top 9 cement dealers in West Bengal. Alongside cement, we ventured into steel trading, managing dealerships of some of the biggest TMT brands: Tata Tiscon, Captain, SEL, Ankit, Elephant, and more — making our mark in yet another cornerstone of the construction sector.
Then came education. In 2009, we founded Chanchal B.Ed College, followed by Chanchal Teachers’ Training College (CTTC) in 2013, with other partners. CTTC made an impact from day one — producing university toppers and quickly earning a reputation as the region’s best. Both colleges continue to thrive, built on strong infrastructure, dedicated faculty, and a student-first approach.
By 2018, my father decided to step back from the cement and steel businesses to focus more deeply on education — a segment that needed our full attention at that point.
In 2020, I officially stepped into the family business full-time, setting up our cement products manufacturing unit. We kicked things off with paver blocks and a modest line of cover blocks, mostly focused on wholesale trading. A year later, I moved to Delhi for further studies and to gain some real-world exposure — working in marketing and client servicing roles across both corporate and startup ecosystems. While I was away, the unit continued operations under the capable hands of Home Chemitech India Pvt. Ltd., a premium waterproofing solutions brand led by my uncle, Mr. Nur Alam (definitely worth a look: hometechchemical.in).
In 2024, I returned to pick up right where I left off. Within a year, we rebranded the unit as CEMOCO — and today, we proudly manufacture high-quality paver blocks, cover blocks, checkered tiles, ventilator jalis, and more. Built in our own factory at Chanchal, Malda, CEMOCO now serves both end customers and dealers with products that are as reliable as they are refined.
Meanwhile, in 2022, my mother Masum Karima and my father, along with partners, launched Arogya Nursing Home — a healthcare initiative offering multi-specialty consultations, diagnostics, and inpatient care. It was a timely and much-needed addition to the community, and a reflection of their expanding vision.
Then, in 2025, we introduced SteelZone, our latest venture. This new wing marks a return to trading — this time as exclusive distributors of TMT Bars across Malda, Uttar & Dakshin Dinajpur (brand announcement coming soon). I lead it with the same passion, under the guidance of my father — who continues to be the heart of all that we do.
Looking ahead, San Marcom India Pvt. Ltd. will gracefully transition out in the coming years. CEMOCO will move to a new proprietorship in 2026, and SteelZone will operate independently too. But no matter how the names evolve, our purpose stays rooted:
To build, trade, teach, and heal — with integrity at the heart of every venture.
What began as a father’s practical decision to protect a patch of land became a foundation for a family legacy.
